What is the food and restaurant scene like in New Haven by Yale?

What is the community like?

While New Haven doesn’t have the same reputation as Boston or New York, its restaurant scene is fantastic. It has many offerings at every price point, and students actually eat out quite a lot. My favorite food was Frank Pepe’s famous clam pizza (Frank Sinatra used to have it delivered to NYC), followed by Miya’s sushi (Vice even covered it: https://munchies.vice.com/en/videos/the-sushi-chef-bun-lai ). Other highlights were the student-priced hamburgers at Morys’ back bar, the french fries at Rudy’s, and the Arepa food cart that moved around campus. During the warmer months Orange Street’s cafe’s set up outside, and this is a great chance to mingle with the wider New Haven community.
