As a student at Melbourne High School, Jamie rowed for both his State and National Development teams. After being recruited by several Ivy League Universities, he chose to begin his college rowing career at Yale in 2012. Having come from a strong academic background, he relished Yale's academic opportunities and took classes in politics, economics, philosophy, and cognitive science. Jamie ultimately settled on a psychology major, his studies focussing on moral and evolutionary psychology.
