How many marks do I need to get to pass a scholarship exam?
It depends quite a bit on the subject, and the exam that you end up sitting. Scholarship is designed so that 3% of the people who sit that subject at Level 3, can get a scholarship pass. The grade boundaries change every year in order to allow this to happen. The grade boundaries can be viewed online at http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/awards/new-zealand-scholarship/scholarship-results/overall-2015/#ranges for 2015, and previous years’ boundaries are also on the same website.
As a general rule, you need at least half the marks of the scholarship in order to pass it, although it can be a fair bit more that this.
