What is a freshman seminar? Did you do one? Was is valuable?
I took a great class on moral philosophy taught by Selim Berker (now a tenured professor in the philosophy department). It has about 8 students in the class and we did close readings of many of the key works in moral philosophy, reading authors like Albert Camus, AJ Ayer, Hume, etc. It is a very intensive and immersive experience because the class is so small, and is ungraded, so there aren’t too many irritating GPA pressure
Overall - very valuable and worthwhile.
