Are classes more lecture-based or discussion-based? What is Princeton’s “precept” system?
One of the hallmarks of Princeton’s class organization are “precepts”. Lectures, especially for intro-level classes or more popular classes, can be quite large. However, many classes also feature a “precept”, a separate time where students meet with professors or teaching assistants to discuss and solidify the material. I love precepts because it affords another way for one to learn the material while really connecting with both teachers and students.
