Can someone tell me what score is usually considered a “safe” SAT score for good schools in the US?
There is no such thing as a minimum required SAT score for many Universities. However, the 25th-75th percentile scores of current students at a school should give you a good idea of what SAT scores to expect for each schools.
The following is the 25th -75th percentile scores of the Old SAT for the top 10 colleges in the US:
Princeton University – 2100 – 2380
Harvard University – 2120 – 2400
University of Chicago – 2140 – 2300
Yale University – 2140 – 2390
Columbia University – 2160 – 2330
Stanford University – 2080 – 2360
MIT – 2170 – 2390
Duke University – 2050 – 2330
University of Pennsylvania – 2070 – 2330
Johns Hopkins University – 2090 – 2320
