Is it possible to go to US colleges with NCEA?
I’m a Y11 student in new Zealand. What should I work on to go to a good college in the US?
Yes! The NCEA curriculum is recognized in the US. It is important to maintain high grades (mostly Es) and aim for NZQA Scholarship exams when possible in addition to other external, rigorous academic qualifications to present the best profile possible. Additionally, be sure to check out the high school requirements for each school as some schools expect to see 4 years in English, 3 years in Math, 3-4 years in Social Science, 3-4 years in Science (including Physics), and 2-4 years in a Foreign Language among other requirements.
