Tessa is an Epsom Girls Grammar School graduate and attended Florida Gulf Coast University on a Division I full athletic scholarship, receiving over 30 full NCAA Division I athletic scholarships. Studying majors in business management and accounting with a concentration in entrepreneurship, she earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average, gaining prestigious Presidents List honours.

Tessa, an Adidas sponsored athlete, has represented New Zealand on the international stage for the past decade in her chosen sport of football. Most notably, she competed in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, was shortlisted for the 2012 London Olympic Games and received the honour of being named ASB Bank Young Sportsperson of the Year in 2011. An entrepreneur, Tessa established her latest business venture, The Merchandise Collective, a merchandising enterprise distributing New Zealand made clothing and apparel worldwide.

She currently serves as President of Mahurangi Action Incorporated, a 40 year-old environmental organisation, and is the Chairperson and one of six trustees formally consented to serve on the Mahurangi Coastal Trail Trust. Most recently, at 21 years-old, Tessa stood as an independent candidate in the 2016 Local Body Elections. She was successfully elected to Auckland Council, serving the Rodney Ward.
