Just out of interest. It would really help me in my decision.
The first year engineering courses are there to introduce you to the world of engineering. At UCT all first year engineering students will definitely do mathematics and physics( except geomatics who do their physics in 2nd year). Then depending on your degree, your other courses will differ. For instance; mechanical, chemical and civil engineering students do chemistry. Then civil, electrical, mechatronics and mechanical engineering all do engineering drawing. Then each discipline will have their own respective courses where they introduce students to their respective disciplines, for instance civil engineering will have introduction to civil engineering.
